catching up, too

I'm way bored, so I thought I'd catch people up on what's been going on with me. The new look for this site is interesting, Mark (btw, did you realize you have yourself listed as a female on your profile? Thought you might want to know...). So, I've been working for the school district as a preschool teacher again this year. I'm working with the special ed kids again and I'm loving it. Then I have a 'regular-ed' class in the afternoon that is pretty fun, too. It's actually the first 'regular' class I've taught - I've been in special ed from the beginning. This year's a little tougher, though, as the kids in my morning class this year have some pretty severe disorders (physical and mental). The severity was a bit of a shock to me at the beginning of the year, but it's going well and I really love the kids in my classes. I'm also taking a couple of classes at the University of Utah now. I'm working toward my Bachelors in early childhood special education. Then I plan
on going ahead to get my Master's in social work and work for the district with the elementary school kids. But that's WAY off from now. At the rate of taking one or two classes at a time, it'll be a while before I just get my Bachelors. My kids are all getting older, so I am having more time for things like work and school without missing much time with them. One thing nice about working for the school district is that I have the same schedule as my kids. Anyway, so I'm staying pretty busy, but really enjoying myself right now. It's so fun to have teenagers (except I don't remember eating even half as much as these guys eat - actually, when I was a teenager, I didn't eat even half of what they eat)! I'm having a hard time believing that I have a daughter who is driving!!! Am I really that old? I don't feel it. I think I'm starting to look it, though. :( Anyway, I need to go get some homework done. That's what I should have been doing these past few minutes any
way. It's cold here and we have a warm fire going and it feels wa
oo good to just curl up by it.
